The Prince and The Purl

Book Review:

I was wary about getting into amigurumi for a while because I’m much more comfortable with knitting than crocheting (obviously), but then I found a lot of Anna Hrachovec’s Teeny Tiny designs that I found on Ravelry and her website. She calls them “mochimochi” and I’ve been sort of unofficially calling it “knit-gurumi” but whatever you call it I am interested!

Anyway I just picked up her Knitting MochiMochi book and it’s really amazing! The patterns are nice and simple to follow, but this is definitely not a book for beginners. There are no lessons on basic stitches to know, but you don’t get crazier then knit, k2tog and kfb.

I picked this book up never knitting on DPN’s and really took off. I usually knit in the round on circular needles, but tiny knitting isn’t possible (even with the magic circle technique).

What I took most from this book is how to make your own patterns. This is something I struggle with a lot since I’m just starting out with knitting. I already came up with so many great ideas for knits I want to make! I did alter on of her patterns to my liking, and will be using the great instructions in the back of the book to make something wicked awesome!

If you like plushies then please go buy this book. Well worth the money!
